The students at WMS have the opportunity to participate in the 2012 Rebecca Caudill Reading Program. There is a list of 20 books by different authors that have been selected by the Illinois Reading Council. This is a program just for Illinois students.
The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award is an annual award given to the author of the book voted most outstanding by the participating students. The award is named in honor of Rebecca Caudill who lived and wrote in Urbana, IL for nearly 50 years.
The program will begin in October and end the middle of February 2012. Students that read 3 or more books are allowed to vote for their favorite book in February. Verification forms need to be signed by parents for students to receive credit.
Students may begin reading the Caudills before the program begins in October. They make great summer reading!!
